IMPARK AWARDED UNITED WAY SPIRIT AWARD

Corporate Press Release 05/03/2009

Impark, one of North America’s largest parking operators, announced today it was awarded a Community Spirit Award by the United Way of the Lower Mainland. The 2008 First-Time Employee Campaign Award recognized Impark for exceptional results achieved in its United Way Workplace Campaign, undertaken at the company’s corporate and field offices in the British Columbia Lower Mainland in November, 2008.

The award was presented during the Scotiabank & United Way’s Community Spirit Awards breakfast on February 26th, 2008, at which organizations that demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership and creativity in contributing to the United Way of the Lower Mainland’s 2008 Campaign were acknowledged. The entire 2008 Campaign raised over $29 million in donations and pledges.

“Understanding how the impact of their efforts can change lives led to a successful first-time United Way campaign for Impark”, says Pommashea Noel-Bentley, Vice President, Resource Development, United Way. “We congratulate Impark and their employees for their achievement in winning a Scotiabank & United Way Community Spirit Award.”

Speaking of the award, Darcy Boyd, Co-Chair of the Impark Campaign Committee commented, “We are extremely proud to receive this award on behalf of Impark employees, who wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of the United Way Campaign. As this was our first United Way Campaign, we focused on educating our employees on the excellent work United Way funded agencies undertake, and when presented with the personal testimonials from individuals in our community whose lives have been changed by United Way, the Impark team really embraced the challenge.” She added, “Employees were engaged from the start when Herb Anderson, Impark’s Chief Executive Officer announced that the company would match, dollar-for-dollar, employee contributions, making the individual donations all the more meaningful.”
