Impark Awarded Township of Montclair Contract

Imperial Parking (U.S.), LLC (Impark) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract with the Township of Montclair, New Jersey. Impark will take over the management of Montclair’s publicly owned parking decks as of May 2018.

“We’re excited to provide Montclair with first-class parking management,” Chris Johnson, senior vice president of Impark, noted.  “Using the expertise of our local team and innovations gleaned from other operations in our growing municipal portfolio, Impark can bring improved results along with exceptional service to the township.”

Situated in Essex County, at the foot of First Watchung Mountain, Montclair is commonly lauded for its diverse population, historic sites, and flourishing arts scene. The contract complements Impark’s notable presence in the thriving township as Montclair State University’s parking operator of choice.

“Not only did Impark’s proposal meet all the criteria we sought, it offered its services at the best price point for the Township,” said Utilities Director Gary Obszarny. “We look forward to working with Impark to ensure our customers’ parking experience is always positive.”

Impark began managing Montclair’s Crescent Street, Bay Street, and North Fullerton Avenue parking decks on May 15. Once constructed, the Glenridge Avenue Deck will also be operated by Impark.

Impark’s management plan includes cutting-edge license plate recognition (LPR) technology, equipment servicing, facility maintenance, and staffing.

“We’re extremely pleased to have been part of the bid process and to successfully move forward with the Township of Montclair,” said Tarek Moussa, Impark’s regional director. “We’re hopeful this will be a long and mutually beneficial relationship. We look forward to expanding our role and bringing more efficiencies and technologies to the community.”
